In this episode of Digital Marketing This Week—driving traffic to your site when you’re on a budget.
This Week's Episode:
Majority of what we are going to talk about today are free, or are low cost. But what we are focusing on are the synergies that you can explore to make driving traffic more efficient and cost-effective.
I should point out that this shouldn’t be the only method you use to drive traffic. It’s definitely a good way to get started, especially if you’re new to the whole thing, but eventually, you should find ways to supplement and complement it.
So today, we thought it would be great to give you:
- 5 traffic building tips
- Easy ways you can create content
- Our go-to (sneaky) SEO tip
- Methods on how to create “viral” content
Tip #1–Using The Power Of Google
I love Google–and you should know, Google knows everything. And the more they know about you, the more they can do for you.
Start by focusing on keywords, telling Google all about you (via using YouTube, Hangouts, or Google+ etc.), using Google Analytics and remarket. What is remarketing? All it is, is taking people who have seen your page, site, offer (whatever it is) and take a segment within that group and market to that specific group.
Tip #2–Get Social
Obviously, you have to do social media–but it has to be social media, with a purpose. Facebook and Twitter are the most common, but you are not limited to just these. For instance, we get a ton of traffic Slideshare, YouTube or LinkedIn. Depending on what your content is, you can find a good social media site that will drive traffic to your site.
Tip #3–Give-A-Ways
Give incentives to drive traffic to your site. One of the easiest ways is to offer a downloadable PDF, but there are various ways that you can offer additional content for users.
Tip #4–Become a guest
This can be a blog or podcasts, which I anticipate to be more massive given that it gets easier and easier to access. In any case, if you do decide to take this route, know that every post helps. You also have to prepare and customize for the traffic that you’re getting.
Tip #5–Become a guest
Email is by far your most personal connection to your users. It gives you an opportunity to say hi to your users and establish a connection, whereas everything else is really a public arena.
For all the tips mentioned, remember that remarketing is one of the most important things that you can do. If you listen to the entire webinar, you can get a more in-depth discussion on how to go about remarketing and a more detailed discussion of each tip so you can easily apply it to your business.
